Enable the extension

Open Safari Settings → Extensions, enable Safari AI Sidebar, then use its toolbar button on a normal website. Safari internal pages and some protected documents cannot be read.

No model is available

Enable Apple Intelligence in System Settings, or open the Safari AI Sidebar host app and configure a provider with your own API key. Third-party keys remain in Keychain.

The answer has no source

The app rejects model citations that do not belong to the actual evidence set. If page content changes before you click a citation, it reports that the original location changed instead of jumping to unrelated text.

A video cannot be summarized

Safari AI Sidebar uses existing HTML text tracks or a visible transcript. It does not record audio or create a transcription. Videos without accessible timed text are intentionally unsupported.

Report a problem

Open Diagnostics in the host app, reproduce the issue, export the redacted JSON, and attach it to a GitHub issue. Review the export before sharing it.
